Burnout is real. It got worse while we were all isolated in the past couple of years. There are 2 things that really help me with my mental wellbeing to avoid burnout: 1) working out and 2) meditating. I like to workout and meditate not only in our physical world, but also in the metaverse. After I got an Oculus in 2022, with great curiosity I have explored all major Oculus workout and mediation apps. For VR meditation apps, please read my article VR Meditation: Top 3 Apps You Can’t Miss. Today I want to share the top 3 VR workout apps that you must try.

No.1: The Thrill of the Fight - VR Boxing

This is my favorite Oculus app. The Thrill of the Fight is developed by Sealost Interactive LLC. I actually have never done boxing before, but this app made me fall in love with virtual boxing. This VR workout provides such an immersive workout experience that you'll feel time simply flies. I could easily spend 30min doing it and burn 300 calories. What's more, this VR boxing game is very affordable. It's only $9.99. You pay it once for lifetime use. Remember when you feel the time goes so slow when you are on a treadmill in the gym? This VR boxing game will make your workout experience much more pleasant.

No.2: Beat Saber

Many of you may have heard this one as Beat Saber is one of the best-selling Oculus apps. Beat Saber is developed by Beat Games. It sold over 4 million copies across platforms according to a Meta report. This game makes you feel you are like a Jedi cutting cubes with swords. This game is simple and fun! There are also many different songs for you to choose. Beat Saber also has a multiplayer mode that allows you to play the game with others. Beat Saber is a bit more expensive than Thrill of Fight though. It is $30. You also pay it once for lifetime use. Some of the songs will cost extra too. If you are looking for a light workout, Beat Saber is a great one to try.

No.3: Supernatural

Supernatural is developed by Within, which was acquired by Meta in 2021 for a reported price of $400M. Supernatural has a tons of different workout videos that you can try. It is like a VR version of workout streaming app. Compared to Thrill of the Fight and Beat Saber, it definitely has lots of more options to choose. You can choose dancing, boxing, meditation and much more. The downside of Supernatural is that it is very expensive. They offer a subscription plan that'll cost you $19 per month ($180 per year) instead of a fee for lifetime use. Supernatural also offers a free demo, so you can try that out to see how it works. If you are looking for varieties of workout and do not mind the price, Supernatural is a good one to choose.

Out of these 3 VR workout apps, The Thrill of the Fight is my favorite. It's such an immersive workout experience! You must try it! I’d love to hear what you like the most. Have fun doing workout in VR!
