Burnout is real. It got worse during COVID-19 while we were all isolated. If you are not functioning as well as you used to, not sleeping well, becoming irritable with people around you, or feeling frustrated, then you might be experiencing burnout. For more burnout symptoms, you can read a Mayo Clinic article here. There are 2 things that really help me with my mental wellbeing: 1) working out and 2) meditating. I like to workout and meditate not only in our physical world, but also in the metaverse. Here are the top 3 VR meditation apps that you must try.

No.1: TRIPP

TRIPP, as the name implies, aims to create experiences that mimic the visuals and feelings people may have during a psychedelic trip. I’m truly amazed at TRIPP’s incredible visuals. For people who aren’t able or don’t feel comfortable to take a psychedelic trip, this is a great way to get a glimpse of the psychedelic experience. TRIPP’s product development and design is based on its research and collaboration with neuroscience and psychiatric advisors per its website. TRIPP has 3 pricing plans: 1) $4.99/month 2) $19.99/year 3) $34.99 for lifetime use. TRIPP also offers a free demo, so you can try that out to see how TRIPP works.

No.2: Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation is like a VR version of mobile meditation apps Calm and Headspace. Like Calm and Headspace, Guided Meditation has many hours of audio sessions on anxiety, depression, maternity, resilience, sleep, and Zen. The difference from these mobile apps is that in the Guided Meditation app you are surrounded by beautiful 360-degree environments of beaches, forests, and much more. You can choose from its library of 40+ lush VR environments to escape the everyday. Guided Meditation is not subscription based like TRIPP. Instead, users pay $14.99 for lifetime use.

No.3: Maloka

The Maloka VR app finds the middle ground between TRIPP and Guided Meditation. The experience of Maloka combines a Zen environment with the psychedelic experience. Maloka pairs you with a spirit companion that you choose when you start the app. You and your spirit companion will grow a spiritual island together by filling your island with intention. The spirit companion looks like a virtual pet. Yes, you can pet it! Petting my spirit companion is my favorite thing to do in Maloka. Unlike TRIPP and Guided Meditation, Maloka is completely free to use.

Out of these 3 VR meditation apps, TRIPP is my favorite. I really love the incredible visuals in TRIPP. I’d love to hear what you like the most. Have fun meditating in VR!
